My Third Page

To start the final day at Cardigan, Mr. Woolner woke us up around 7 again. Everyone at Cardigan was sore from the long hike before. We got into our clothes for the last day at Cardigan. My bunkmates and I went down to hang out in the common room. Some people played the instruments while others just talked. I talked with my friends. Before we knew it, we were sitting down for breakfast. The food we had for breakfast on the 3rd day was my favorite. We had eggs, bacon, apple crisp, and tater tots. My personal favorite part of the breakfast was the apple crisp. Our table had to get seconds of the apple crisp and bacon. After breakfast, we met with our counselors in our meeting spot. Then, we started off on our last hike. I was really excited for the compass course but sadly there was already a group there. We decided to do the nature walk. On the nature walk, we saw lots of cool stuff including plants and different kinds of birds. We also saw a lot of hemlock trees. Eventually, we circled around and started the compass course. Max gave us all compasses and we tried to find the treasure. At the end, we hiked up a huge hill and found the treasure. It was an abandoned car. The cool part about it was it had bullet holes. Although someone probably came by and shot it up after it was abandoned. We sketched the old car and it was my favorite sketch out of all the 17 I made. At the top of the hill, we ate our lunch. I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with mayo. Soon after, we then played a lot of camouflage because we had time to waste. Finally, we got back from our hike. When we got back I started to realize that the field trip was basically over. We filled out a form about AMC and what we liked and disliked about Cardigan. Next, we packed up our stuff and cleaned our rooms. Lastly, we threw our stuff into the trailer of Mr. Woolners car. Sadly, we said our goodbyes and left Cardigan on the bus.

Regions

Regions are areas that are defined by some characteristic. It does not necessarily need a border but it can have one or even just a fuzzy one. There were a bunch of regions at Cardigan. To start, Cardigan Lodge is a part of Cardigan State Forest. There were hemlock regions near rivers, Alpine regions, and even White Pine regions. Also, there was the Mt. Cardigan region which was rocky and steep. Furthermore, there was Dukes Meadow where we took the compass course and Dukes ski trail. We also saw a region called the Northern Hardwood Forest as well as the Boreal Zone. Finally, there were grassy regions that went on for a while and then stopped. As you can clearly see, we saw a ton of regions on our field trip at Cardigan.
